Crockpot scalloped potatoes are delicious and simple to prepare. Here are several scalloped potato recipes and a wonderful casserole crockpot to consider.

Crockpot Scalloped Potatoes

This recipe uses only a few simple ingredients. You can make it in a crock pot or slow cooker. If you do not own either, the recipe can also be baked in a casserole dish in your oven.

Slow Cooker Crockpot Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp dry mustard 
  • 2 cups milk
  • 8 cups thinly sliced peeled red potatoes
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Dash of paprika 

Make the Sauce: melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and saute for 5 minutes. Stir in the flour, salt, dry mustard, and nutmeg. Stir and simmer for about one minute then gradually add milk. Stir constantly until the sauce thickens.

Add the Potatoes: Place the peeled, sliced potatoes in your slow cooker. Drizzle the sauce over the potatoes and stir gently until all potatoes are coated with sauce.

Cover and cook on high heat for 3 - 4 hours or until potatoes are tender. Sprinkle with the cheese and dust with paprika. Cover and cook for 5 minutes more or just until cheese is melted. Serves 8 - 10.

Cheesy Crockpot Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 6 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1⁄4 cup celery leaves
  • 1tablespoon dried parsley
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1⁄4cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (13 ounce) can evaporated milk
  •  1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese 
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon paprika

Directions:

Lightly grease your crockpot cooker insert; layer potato slices alternately with the onion in the cooker. In a blender or food processor, combine celery leaves, parsley, butter, flour, salt, pepper, evaporated milk and cheddar cheese. Process for 1 minute or until mixture is smooth.

Pour the sauce over the layered potatoes and onions and sprinkle with paprika.

Cover and cook on low for 6- 8 hours or on high for 3- 4 hours, or until potatoes are tender and heated through.


Crockpot Scalloped Potatoes with Ham

Ingredients:

  • 8 potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 pound fully-cooked ham, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 package (1 ounce size) country-style gravy
  • 1 can (10.5 ounce size) cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese


Directions:

Combine potatoes, onion and ham. Stir together the gravy mix, mushroom soup and water until well combined.

Pour the gravy mixture over the potatoes. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours in your electric crockpot. You can also place this recipe in a lightly greased stoneware crockpot and bake for about 1 hour at 375 degrees in your oven. Check potatoes and cook longer if not done.

Top with the cheese during last 20 minutes of cooking in either method.
