Christmas Mashed and Sweet Potato Recipes

We don’t serve these high calorie mashed potatoes any time of the year except during the holidays when we think a bit of indulgence in can be part of celebrating the season. They are so tasty that your family and friends will demand the recipe.

5 pounds red potatoes, peeled and quartered

1 cup heavy cream (for an even tastier treat, we sometimes use eggnog instead of the cream!)

½ cup butter
Salt and pepper to taste

Place potatoes in a large pot with enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, and cook until fork tender, about 20 minutes. Drain, add butter, and mash using a potato masher, ricer or mixer. Gradually beat in the heavy cream. Serve hot!
