Potatoes with Honey are Totally Yummy

Honey BBQs....You Never Would Have Known Would You!

Honey BBQs....You Never Would Have Known Would You!

What an amazing website you have and potatoes are as versatile as honey when it comes to recipes.

Here is a selection of my family favourites, I hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

Recipe #1 Honey roasted potatoes.

Peel and wash your potatoes then boil them for 15 minutes in a pan of lightly salted water.

Drain them and transfer to a hot roasting pan that has been lightly greased with olive oil.

Pop into a hot oven and turn after 15 minutes so that each side turns equally brown.

After half an hour or when the potatoes look golden baste them with honey and rosemary and turn again after 10 minutes or so. Result....golden honey roasted potatoes.

Recipe #2 BBQ potatoes.

Peel and slice into half inch thick rings some large potatoes.

Baste them with a mixture of olive oil, honey and herbs of your choice and cook on your BBQ.

Turn them frequently as they cook very quickly then when golden brown either serve them as a side dish or use them in place of burger buns. So much nicer than all that white flour!

Recipe #3 Potato, Red Pepper, Red Onion and Honey Soup.

Peel and wash your potatoes, just enough to serve you or your family although all these recipes can be frozen if cooked in bulk.

Core and slice your red peppers and peel and slice your onions.

Pop the whole lot in a large saucepan with enough stock of your choice to cover, bring to the boil then turn down the heat and simmer for around half an hour until ingredients are all soft.

Blend all these ingredients together until smooth and blend in a couple of tablespoons of honey just before serving. Serve with warm crusty bread.....my mouth is watering!

By adding the honey to most of your potato recipes you will be experiencing all the benefits of honey.
