Emeril Lagasse Cookware

Emeril Lagasse cookware is a line of celebrity cookware that consistently receives high cookware ratings.

Emeril Lagasse Cookware Many celebrity chefs have brought out kitchenware bearing their names, but very few have been designed by the chef themselves. Emeril Lagasse cookware has been modeled on specifications set down by the chef himself so that you can follow his recipes more closely. In his numerous recipe books, Lagasse refers to many different types of kitchen utensils, and finding the correct one is easier if you own the full set.

Cajun Influence

Being born in New England seems to have had little or no influence on Lagasse’s cooking style, as he’s been based in New Orleans for the last 30 years. As a result, most of his signature dishes have a distinctive Cajun or Creole flavor. A lot of these foods come in the form of stir fries and stews, or gumbos, so a lot of the Emeril Lagasse cookware takes the form of sturdy high sided pans and frying pans designed to spread the heat out evenly.

High Quality Design and Features

Emeril Lagasse has set out to make his cookware range one of the best sets out there. While this makes it more expensive than most, you’ll find a range of useful design features in Emeril Lagasse cookware:

  • Dual purpose - One of the biggest selling points of Emeril Lagasse pots and pans is that they can be used in either the oven or on the stove without damage. This reduces the number of pans you need, as you can simply transfer a pot from the stovetop to the oven for baking.
  • Flared rims - All of the saucepans in the Emeril Lagasse range come with flared rims, meaning that they curve out at the top of the pan. This gives the pan a sturdier feel, and makes for drip free pouring of sauces.
  • Thick nonstick coating - Cheaper saucepans will have one or two layers of nonstick coating which will easily chip and peel after lots of cooking. The nonstick range of the Emeril Lagasse cookware comes with a minimum of 5mm hard anodized aluminum which provides for a long-lasting non-stick pan. One of the best sets available is the Emeril Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware.

You can buy the pans individually so you can pick and choose from the different styles available. Alternatively, and more cheaply, you can buy the whole range of one type of pan.

Other Kitchen Cookware

Beyond the traditional range of saucepans and cooking knives, Emeril Lagasse cookware includes a wide variety of Emeril kitchen gadgets to make your life easier. Some of his best selling items include:

  • Smoker Bags - If you like your meat or fish to have a smoky flavor, you can buy Emeril Lagasse smoker bags, which come pre-flavored with various herbs and spices. You simply put the meat in the bag and cook it as you would in an oven or over a campfire, to get a true smoked flavor with minimum hassle.
  • Mini Blender - The main problem with normal kitchen blenders is that they tend to be quite big. This means that if you’re blending a small amount of food, it can get stuck in the blades at the bottom and can be hard to scrape. The mini blender only holds up to 20 ounces, but is perfect for blending sauces and spice blends.

The main reason to invest in Emeril Lagasse cookware is the variety of the range. You can get everything from a spatula to enameled cast iron oven dishes and all will come with the same high quality finish. All the pots and pans are designed to compliment each other in appearance, so you can pick and choose from the different ranges and still look like you have a matching set.
