Cookware Ratings
Best cookware ratings will help you choose the right cookware for your lifestyle. Cookware reviews by actual customers are worth taking time to read.
Ratings and cookware reviews are a great way of getting a feel for a product, and in no case is this truer than with cookware ratings. Choosing cookware is a highly personalized affair, and what suits one chef will be completely frustrating for the next. The main problem with cookware is that on the surface it all looks the same. That is, all sauce pans have handles and all oven dishes have roughly the same maximum capacity. The thing that makes them difference is their usability, so before you rush out and buy any cookware, it’s a great idea to find out about your options first.
Finding The Ratings
With the massive rise in internet shopping and feedback in the last 10 years, finding reviews and cookware ratings has become incredibly easy. The major drawback with these reports is that there are now too many, meaning that it can be hard to get a good overall picture. However, with some careful research, you can learn to pick out the right places to look for information. Going to amazon.com for instance, you can type in cookware, then at the right of the screen choose to sort the results by “Average Customer Review.” That will give a page of the cookware with the highest cookware reviews by customers.
When looking for a new cookware set, I followed this process and found that the set with the highest customer cookware reviews was the Cuisinart MCP-12 MultiClad Pro Stainless Steel 12-Piece Cookware Set
Neutral Online Stores
The reviews of products on a company’s own website are allowed to be heavily censored, so while there may be lots of comments, all of them will be highlighting the positive aspect of the cookware. Try to find the cookware ratings section of a website which sells multiple ranges of cookware, as the reviewers are more likely to compare their purchases with other products they own.
Choosing who to believe can be a big problem, as people tend to go online and leave reviews and ratings because their product is either really good or really bad. You’ll need to read a lot of reviews to cut through people’s personal opinions to get to the facts about the product. It can be worth making notes of any actual assertions that a reviewer makes and seeing if you can find another reviewer who makes the same point.
Cookware Magazines
You can find dozens of magazines devoted to the latest trends in cookware as well as offering tips to budding chefs. Most of these will offer a review section of various kitchen items each month. While the cookware ratings may be more comprehensive than those on the internet, you will be limited to reading what the editor wanted to put in the magazine for each edition.
It will also be important to check who owns each magazine. Many cookware manufacturers will act as a holding company for a magazine and while the articles might not be outright propaganda, there will be a certain bias towards the parent company’s products. You can make this check on the internet.
Store Staff
The workers in any dedicated cookware store will know about their products and may be able to offer you their opinions about each one. This is a great way of being able to compare products and value for money, as well as being able to ask any questions to an impartial source.
On the negative side, store staff in cookware stores are often on commission, so you may find yourself receiving the hard sell to buy the most expensive product. If you find this happening, you can always call them on it and ask for their personal opinion. You will also find that most of the store staff will not have owned the products themselves, so it’s worth asking them if they have before you start asking questions.
Once you’ve found a source of cookware ratings that you trust, try buying the products that the ratings recommend to see if they match your own personal preferences. If they do, then you can use that site again when you need more cookware. You can also start to leave your own reviews and ratings for other people.
