Belgique Cookware

Tips to help decide if this is the best cookware set for you....

Belgique Cookware Belgique cookware may be the best cookware set for your if you need a durable, quality product that is both affordable and easy to maintain. You can scrub it with a dish brush and soap, but do not run it through the dishwasher as these items are not dishwasher safe. Belgique also has a few different product lines available that are both functional and appealing.

Cookware

Three types of Belgique cookware are available through retail locations, the first of which feature copper bottoms and stainless steel with metal lids. The second is made of all stainless steel and has glass lids. The third product line consists of anodized pots and pans with clear lids.

The stainless steel set comes with 14 pieces, including two, three, and four quart saucepans with lids, a ten inch frying pan, a three quart sauté pan with lid, and an 11 quart stockpot with lid. A four quart covered casserole pan, a double boiler insert, pasta insert, and multi-steamer insert also come with this set.

The hard-anodized aluminum collection has a nine and a half inch frying pan, an 11 quart stock pot with lid, a four quart covered casserole, and a ten quart pasta insert. A three quart covered sauté pot and one, two, and three quart soup pots with lids are also included.

As for the copper bottom cookware, a ten or 14 piece set is available and includes three different size saucepans with lids, the sauté pan with lid, a frying pan, a stockpot with lid, a casserole pan with lid, and a pasta insert.

One of our favorite Belgique, tools of the trade, cookware is the Tools of the Trade Belgique Stainless Steel Soup Pot

Season

Before you use any new cookware, you must first season the inside because it is porous. Seasoning the pots and pans prevents carbonization and food from sticking to the cookware. To season your cookware put a few drops of peanut oil inside of the product and wipe it with a paper towel before placing it on the stove. Leave it until it smokes and then remove it, let it cool, and wipe it again. For best results, seasoning should be done three to four times a year. Just place a few teaspoonful of peanut oil and wipe it with a piece of paper towel.

Low Heat

While Belgique cookware can be used over a high flame or on an electric stove, its design may make it the best cookware set to use gas stove tops and low heat settings. When used over a high flame, Belgique products may become discolored, ruining the look of your new set of pots and pans, though this does not affect the cookware’s performance.

A Word of Caution

New Belgique cookware has a layer of plastic on the bottom of its pots and pans to protect them during packaging and shipping. You do not want to try to cook before removing this protective plastic.

To remove this layer and avoid burning and damaging the cookware, soak it in water with three tablespoons of baking soda for at least 20 minutes. Rinse the pot or pan clean and for those products with a copper bottom, use a copper polish to remove any remaining residue.

Another piece of advice is to use caution when touching the handle of the cookware. Despite the silicone handles, they still tend to heat up very quickly and you may get burned if you do not use a dish towel or pot holder.

When shopping around for pots and pans Belgique cookware is an option you may want to consider. It is affordable, functional, and can be found online or in stores, making shopping easy so that you can find exactly what you want and compare products. Belgique also comes with a warranty, which shows the manufacturers confidence in its product.
